Kwesi Appiah re-appointed as Black Star Coach


The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has re-appointed Kwesi Appiah as the new head coach of the Black Stars.

The former Black Stars skipper’s appointment comes after the GFA went through tough decisions as to who becomes the new coach of the Black Stars.

The Ghanaian Football Association took to their Twitter handle to announce Kwesi Appiah as the new coach of the Stars on Tuesday, 4th April.

Appiah, who quit his role as Ghana coach following their exit in the World Cup 2014 in Brazil after the Black Stars were knocked out of the tournament in the group stages succeeds Avram Grant.

Appiah also guided Ghana to a fourth finish at the 2013 African Cup of Nations in South Africa during his first stint.

After the World Cup, where the Black Stars suffered a historic first round elimination, the ex-national defender took up a job as head coach of Sudanese club Al Khartoum before Grant’s appointment.
